In September 2006 a review of the governance arrangements within NICSSA and between NICSSA and its business partners was carried out by Ken Millar Consultancy Ltd. The purpose of the review was to assess the appropriateness of the existing governance arrangements to support the current and future business needs of the Association and its members.

The outcome of the review was a series of recommendations for the introduction of new governance arrangements and management structure. These were discussed and agreed in principle by the Council of the Association in February 2007.
