Civil Service player gets Co. Down call-up
3.8.2009
Congratulations to Civil Service Football Club under-17 player Craig Patterson who was recently called up to the County Down Milk Cup side to play Deportivo Brasil.
Craig was drafted into the County Down Premier squad as a late replacement for Gareth Matthews who has been forced to withdraw following a knee injury picked up in the defeat to Preston North End.
The ‘Boys from Brazil ’ turned on the style to beat County Down in horrific conditions in the 7th/8th play-off in Broughshane.
Derportivo scored directly from a 13th minute Felipe Alves corner. Rodrigo Silva doubled the lead just before the break. Orlando dos Reis sealed the victory with five minutes remaining.
